SPURS SUFFER

Tottenham Hotspur has recently been facing a number of setbacks in the Premier League as they had to settle with a 2-2 draw with Sunderland a few weeks when they played at the Stadium of Light on September 13. During that match Tottenham at least managed to collect 1 point but in their latest Premier League game, the team of Mauricio Pochettino underwent a surprising 1-0 defeat against West Bromwich Albion.

These are not the kind of results that a club which is aiming to capture a spot in the Europa League or Champions League qualifying zone wants to go through as they are losing valuable points and could have started this new season of the Premier League in a much better way.

Certain players in the squad have started displaying underwhelming performances and even the coach of Tottenham Hotspur, Mauricio Pochettino himself seems rather unsure about his decisions as he stated during a recent press conference that he is unsure about which group of players are his best and the former coach of Southampton continued on talking about his clubs’ abysmal performance against West Bromwich Albion.

“We need to move the ball quicker, faster. West Brom played long balls and tried to win the second ball. We had a problem because we were always late to the second ball and we took a lot of time to get into the opposition’s box. We need to be more aggressive in the last third of the pitch.”

“Our best starting team depends on each and every game there is no doubt about that. It’s not an excuse. A bad performance on Sunday is not because of the changes. We have a very strong squad and we need to use our players. We have a lot of games ahead and after each match we analyze every player. At the moment the players are not in a position to play three games in one week.” Pochettino told reporters during one of his latest press conferences.
